This body of work shows the hermetically sealed aspects of our relationship with nature that are a backdrop in our everyday experiences. My intention is to show the manmade layers of abstraction between the natural world and us. The structure of our relationship with nature is displayed in an often ironic and clinical way. The images do not contain natural occurrences, but rather contrived human decisions.

The airtight and stifling quality of preservation is highlighted by the images of taxidermy in a museum setting. Nature, which is fluid an ever evolving, becomes static and something of an antiquity when it is untouchable and behind glass. By using a camera, I create yet another boundary in each photograph because the viewer is another step removed from the experience.
